Saving the Hampton House
After the passing of the Hampton family matriarch, Iberia Hampton, the house was threatened with foreclosure and fell into disrepair.
A campaign began to save the Hampton House, and it saved the home from foreclosure by hundreds of donations that came in from around the world.
In addition to seeking landmark status and turning the home into a museum, the Save the Hampton House Committee, led by Chairman Fred Hampton, Jr., is now working to bring the home up to code.
